The Avengers and their allies must be ready to sacrifice everything to neutralize the formidable Thanos before his lightning attack leads to the complete destruction of the universe...

Three years after the second Avengers outing, the less than successful Age of Ultron, the MCU picks up speed with the much anticipated Infinity War. For the last few months, the third movie about the Marvel superhero team has been touted as the one that will shift the Marvel universe into another dimension and profoundly redefine the path taken until now. Does it live up to its promise? At the very least, it delivers its contractual content.

Event though it’s probably not the best film in the Marvel universe, especially due to its rather boring narrative structure and the Russo brothers’ inability to craft really interesting action scenes, there is no dead time in its 2 hours and 35 minutes. It links together battles, banter and trips back and forth between the planets with great fluidity, skilfully dosing its humour. Avengers 3 also offers a welcome darkness thanks to its major asset, bad guy Thanos. Superbly played by Josh Brolin, he is terrifying and exciting, with depth of character. After six years of knowing he was coming, it was worth the wait. The result is an epic adventure and an unexpected, timeless finale, with a villain who finally upsets the Marvel hierarchy.

Ausser ein paar coolen Sprüchen hat der Film nichts zu bieten. Mit Abstand der schlechteste Film in der Avenger-Reihe. Nicht zu empfehlen.
